A highly skilled engineering professional with a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Computer Science and Technology, specializing in Information Technology, from Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Mesra, Ranchi. With 7 years of experience in developing Microservices and distributed systems, I have built a solid foundation in software engineering principles. I am dedicated to staying at the cutting edge of emerging technologies and methodologies, continually advancing my expertise to deliver innovative and impactful solutions.
Staff Software Engineer @ Flexport | Ex-Shopify | Ex-Tekion | 7 YOE in Distributed Systems and Microservices
I joined Flexport as part of its acquisition of Shopify Logistics and Deliverr, which aimed to expand Flexport’s global services into last-mile and fast e-commerce fulfillment. I am part of the Omnichannel team, where I focus on leading and building a platform team in India. My work revolves around organization-wide initiatives such as reducing infrastructure costs, minimizing vulnerabilities, and migrating systems to OpenSearch, all while ensuring strategic alignment across teams.
During my time at Shopify and Flexport, I led multiple initiatives to improve billing efficiency and enhance reporting, driving key improvements for the organization. One of my notable contributions includes developing an unbundled replenishment service that enables efficient inventory management across multiple channels, including fulfillment, wholesale, B2B, and long-term storage. Additionally, I pioneered the design and development of a comprehensive returns platform from scratch, providing merchants with tools to manage returns and restock inventory.
In terms of technical stack, I work with Typescript, NodeJS, MySQL, Serverless, Docker, REST, Koa, Knex, AWS Lambda, Cloudwatch, S3, SQS, EC2, Step Functions, Datadog, Metabase, Github, and CircleCI.
At Tekion, I had the opportunity to collaborate with a high-caliber founding team, many of whom came from Tesla, to create cutting-edge end-to-end retail and ERP systems tailored specifically for automobile dealerships. I focused on the integration of OEMs, insurance providers, and dealerships within the ARC (Automotive Retail Cloud), working on both inbound and outbound integrations to streamline data flows and ensure seamless communication across all platforms.
My role involved a variety of complex backend tasks using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, REST, SOAP, AWS, and Jenkins, ensuring high performance and scalability across Tekion’s cloud-based systems.
At National Instruments, I worked on the development of software for hardware integration. Specifically, I contributed to adding support for CompactRIO modules in LabVIEW NXG. I worked on the decomposition of CompactRIO modules into hardware targets, enhancing their functionality and improving the overall performance of the system. My work contributed to the seamless integration of LabVIEW with CompactRIO devices, ensuring that customers could leverage the full potential of National Instruments’ hardware.
Technologies I worked with during this time include C#, WPF, LabVIEW, Git, and Azure DevOps.
At Comviva, I worked in the MobiLytix team, where I was responsible for developing Java plugins for the MRTM (Mobile Real-Time Management) platform used by telecommunications companies like Indosat and Optus. These plugins were used to manage campaigns for millions of customers, optimizing real-time campaign execution. I also developed a REST microservice for batch request processing for loyalty points, which helped improve load distribution for real-time operations by over 35%.
My key contributions during this time included optimizing the performance and scalability of the system using Java, Kafka, Oracle DB, REST, SOAP, Maven, and Ansible.
